Girls Skills Workshop

girls workshop

Motivent is providing a free workshop series for girls in 3rd to 5th grade who want to learn social skills and healthy coping mechanisms. Workshops will be held every Tuesday, 6:00pm-7:30pm, from July 16th to August 6th.

This series of workshops will provide a safe nurturing place where girls can share their own stressors and seek guidance from trained professionals and peers. They will learn how to deal with overwhelming feelings, build strategies for staying calm, and improve their self-confidence.

Registration is required to ensure space availability but there is no cost for the workshop. Parents can drop their children off and pick them up at the end of each workshop.

This workshop is based on techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), an evidenced based curriculum that focuses on skills for:

  • Mindfulness
  • Distress Tolerance
  • Emotion Regulation
  • Interpersonal Effectiveness

Attendence is free, but we request that you RSVP in advance to ensure we have enough space. Free parking is available in the back of the building. For questions, contact Dana Pavlu at info@motivent.com or call 773-432-6559.
